Iris Giclée prints by Steven J. White
Steven J. White was born in Chincoteague, Virginia and grew up in northern New Jersey. Steven graduated from Lyndhurst High School in 1970 and served four years in the US Air Force. He has been painting professionally since 1987. He is known for his ability to capture the beauty of nature. His landscapes have been nationally recognized and have won numerous awards. In 1992 he was a finalist in The Artist's Magazine's annual competition. He is a signature member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society
Steven White is a multi-talented, self taught artist. His style is truly original and his vision is influenced only from within. He has always been emotionally drawn to render scenes and events where he lives. He says, "I've learned through careful observation that you don't have to go much further than your own back yard to find inspiration and subject matter." He also feels that before an artist can paint he needs to learn how to see! An artist's gift is his ability to see something special in an otherwise ordinary scene and a burning desire to put it on paper. It's a gift I don't always understand, but paint... I must!"
His original paintings have
been exhibited by galleries along the east coast, including The
Salmagundi Club in New York City, The Chadds Ford Gallery in Pennsylvania,
and the Principal Gallery in Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia. His
artwork is in public and private collections. The demand for his
originals has prompted him to move to the next step in his career,
producing limited edition prints.
