Iris Giclée print by Diane Togstad Aamot
Diane Togstad Aamot started drawing horses at the age of four. Born and raised in Devil's Lake, North Dakota, the great-granddaughter and great-great-granddaughter of Norwegian immigrants, she started summer art programs in grade school, took all the art classes available through junior high, senior high and two years at the local college, from the same instructor, Dr. Robert Moore.
Through Dr. Moore's support and encouragement, and that of her family, Diane's attitude never to stop painting, drawing, learning and doing, was formed. The biblical statement that "all the hairs on your head are numbered" heard and heart felt, at the age of twelve, has been the foundation of every piece Diane has produced.
At home now with a husband and small daughter in Southwest Colorado, with the abundance of wildlife and the Rocky Mountains, Diane is producing paintings which reflect her love and respect for God's world and all that His Nature encompasses.
